Malam Jabba

Situated in the district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Swat is a beautiful city with a rich history. But most importantly, it has a mountain range that leaves everyone in awe. Even though there are many places in Swat that people dream to visit, Malam Jabba is one of the most famous localities in the city since it manages to attract the most tourists. This is because it’s one of the few places in Pakistan that offers adventures such as skiing.

Malam Jabba is a hill station nearly 40 km from Saidu Sharif and is home to one of the largest and oldest ski resorts in the country. Initially built as a joint effort of Pakistan and Austria, the resort was owned by the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation and had a ski slope of about 800m with the highest point of the slope 2804 m (9200 ft) above sea level.

Today, the resort is being rebuilt and modernised as travellers from all over the world visit it to either ski, or partake in the skiing festivals.

Why should you visit Malam Jabba? Because not only are there 1 km long slopes for skiing, but there are also chair lifts, snowboarding, and a wonderful view.

Located in Gilgit-Baltistan, Naltar valley is one of the most visited places in Hunza. This is because the forested region has many things to offer such as a gorgeous mountain scenery, wildlife and three lakes. The valley is also home to the Naltar ski resort which serves as the main facility for the Ski Federation of Pakistan and the Pakistan National Ski Championship.

Established in 1965, Naltar Ski resort is the oldest one in Pakistan and has installed the country’s highest chairlift. The resort also holds ice hockey and snowboarding competitions.
